Jersey City, NJ, New Jersey
128 Teams from across the Globe made the journey to Jersey City,
New Jersey to compete in the World’s Largest Grappling
event, the NAGA’s World Championship. Over 1,100 grapplers
and 3,000 spectators packed St. Peters College for the NAGA
event. The event featured 170 Gi & No-Gi Grappling Divisions
and 127 Championship Swords which drew fighters from all over
the world. The ages of our competitors ranged from 5 years old
to 59 years young.
The event started off with the Kids No-Gi and Gi Divisions
which attracted just over 340 children and teens under the
age of 17.
This was the most delightful aspect of the event in that
it shows how much the sport is growing every year!
THANKS TO OUR STAFF
The success of the NAGA is 100% due to the staff. 1,100 +
competitors fighting in multiple divisions creates over 2,000
matches that Saturday. With all the fighters, matches and
multiple divisions to compete in, it was almost unbelievable
that the event started at noon and ended by 10:00 PM that
evening.

WHERE THEY GAME FROM
SPAIN
Instructor David Armendariz brought 3 students (Jose
Carcia, Karim Sabbah & Antonio Banyo) came all the way
from Valencia, Spain to compete in the NAGA Worlds. Team Renzo
Gracie, Spain!
ENGLAND
Kathy Gifford from London UK fought in the women’s advanced.
This was her second NAGA World Championship.
ONTARIO, CANADA
Instructor Pete Tremblay, Tanya Vlahac, Tammy Stewart, Jad
Black, Valerio Biasotto, Steve Moffat & Hal Hughes made
the road trip to compete. 8 hour drive.
Dave Britto drove up from Camp Lejeune,
NORTH CAROLINA
Grant Richard came from Medway, MASSACHUSETTS
Mike Troxel & Caleb Klous drove
up from Lynchburg, VIRGINIA. 7 ½ hours in a van.
